Hmmm. My notes are somewhat different and beg to be corrected if wrong: 1402 wrecked 08-11-58 in head-one collision with train #53 at Sloatsburg (FRA report does not list engine for Train #53.) Wrecked again at Newark, NJ on Newark Branch in collision with Train #1302 on 01-08-63. Scrapped. 1407 wrecked at Dover, NJ on 11-01-66. Repaired at Hornell Shop. Unit #902 destroyed in that wreck. 1407 went on to become Conrail #5927, rebuilt in GP-8 program at Paducah on 12-23-76 and was assigned #5725, renumbered #5705.
