Recently someone here at NJT came across an old binder containing various "bulletin board" items (Trainmaster notices, assignment bid sheets, etc.) that covers the period 1967-1978. We don't know where this was originally located but somewhere in Hoboken is a likely guess. I thought I would take a few minutes at lunch here today to share a sample notice. This particular notice reads: ERIE LACKAWANNA RAILROAD COMPANY Office of Superintendent Hoboken, NJ July 11, 1967 BULLETIN N-603 All Concerned: Welded rail has been distributed along the right-of-way on the Morristown Line between MP 25. 4 and MP 27.8. All employees will exericse care to avoid personal injury. R.L. Downing Superintendent - -------------------------------------------------------- I checked my 1982 track chart and it indicates that the rail on Track 1 between Madison and Convent (roughly the referenced mileposts) was installed in 1967. As I come across other items in the book I'll transcribe them for the list.
