That's exactly my point. Moreover, were the cars with yellow diamonds the cars mentioned in the original posting which, IIRC, mentioned yellow lettering?

Those yellow decals are *CORRECT.* As-delivered, some of Erie's 40' boxcars has yellow diamonds with yellow lettering and a black interior circle. . . The other lettering (reporting marks, capacity, etc.) is white - always was. Only the token few cars had the yellow diamonds, and they only lasted 1-2 years in service that way.
