Bob Gillis looked up the Social Security records of Andy Barbera to find
out his year of death. Unfortunately, Andy's first name was ANTHONY, not
Andrew...

Andy was born around 1898/1899, and most likely passed away in the early
1990s.

Heh I guess reporting my finding his grave with death year of 1984 wasn't
proof enough huh..

He was born Anthony, but if you called him Anthony or Tony he would become
furious with you, and generally would not speak to you again if you did.. More
than a dozen 50 year veterans have all shared this with me..
He only wanted to be known as Andy. He didn't want his Italian heritage to
be known as Italians were generally profiled against in the early days of
railroading.
