This was just after the DL&W built their trestle but before their own tracks reached Buffalo in 1882. Note you could place your coal order by telephone and the DL&W would deliver it anywhere in the city limits. You never had to leave your office. McWilliams headed the railroad's coal operations in Buffalo from 1879 to 1903.
