Re: (erielack) Wean United Mfg

I do believe there is such a thing as TOO many yards on a layout. Although I do like to bookend with them. So far the yards I intend to include are Meadville, interchange yard at shenango, Leavittsburg & Akron. Kent having been down graded I'm not sure yet how I will represent. Perhaps a few weed overgrown tracks, or a less then yard wide space on the layout to give the impression of where the tracks have been ripped up for scrap. I believe the tank lining company occupies a part of the former yard. It looks like it is in the area that in "The West End" there is that picture of Kent from up on a light tower looking west, that where diesels are being serviced I believe is where the tank liners are now (or, rather in the 70's/80's).

You may also want to think about the PC (PRR) interchange at North Warren
and the small yard that ran between Paige Ave. and N. Park Ave.

I have incorporated live interchanges on my layout. It adds a lot of
operation without a lot of buildings, etc. You might think about that a bit. I
  think you'd find it interesting.

Warren Scrap was pretty close to N. Warren and I'm sure the EL may have
interchanged a load of scrap there once in a while.

Don't forget the B&O interchange probably 1/2 a mile or so west of there,
  too.
