I was told by an older friend who knew the territory better that Susquehanna was coming off a steep grade at Swartzwood creating a problem for establishing a yard. Then there is the theory of tradition - that since Susquehanna always interchanged at Hainsburg, so why change it. In addition it did give NYS&W a longer haul. There were some customers at Stillwater and Blairstown.
