Erie water tower bases (was: (erielack) Kent Yard water tower



Dave,

Thanks for the link.  I wonder what that water tower is doing there in Ontario County?

Anyway, just looking at the map, I'm wondering what other water tanks would have existed along the Erie main line.  There is a big gap between the one in Addison and the next one to the east.  I guess that is because the route is basically "water level", so locomotives could have taken water at Corning or Elmira and there was no need for an extra tank along the mainline?

I'm also wondering if there is another tank hiding on the old main line through Wellsville.  Although, it appears that the tank at Tip Top is still not on the web page because nobody has taken a picture of it yet.
