RE: (erielack) Camelbacks - Mother Hubbards
The L&WV RHS (Laurel Line) calendar has a nice 1948 picture of a NYO&W
Camelback this month. Somewhere north of Forest City heading to NY
State. I imagine the train is actually stationary since there's the
engineer is posing out the window and someone's sitting on the front of
the locomotive.

Never saw an Erie "camelback".
In 1943-46 while I went to Scranton Tech they were using 2-8-0s and
2-10-0 Russian Decs on the Scranton branch. On the E&WV all I recall
were 2-8-2s.
All Erie trains on D&H from Avoca to Susquehanna used those USRA 2-10-2s
both on the head end and as pushers. After the Erie mainline went
deisel 2-8-4s used to show up on the D&H trackage. Never saw any 0-6-0
or 0-8-0 yard engines.
