Amtrak was headed to Binghamton, then to Albany as far as I was able to determine. Picture riding Amtrak over Tunkhannock viaduct.....sigh.

Ah, if only the old cutoff still existed - an idea whose time has not yet come.
BTW, I read somewhere that there'd be a trip on the 'Bloom' - how can this be if the river bridge is out of service??? Am I missing something??

Attached are a few pictures from the Lackawanna Railfest taken Sunday. There was quite a crowd while I was there, and parking was a challenge, though good to see Steamtown very busy.
Nice to see Amtrak in Scranton, hopefully we'll see this on a daily basis in the near future. The NS executive F-units were also a treat as I had heard rumors that they might be present.
