Bob Bahrs please forgive me for trying to steal your thunder, but this was home territory for me.

X2189 from 8/4 and X2190-X2194 all show West End in Jersey City. The DL&W crosses over the Erie/NYSW here just west of the truss bridges over the line from Bergen Archways.
X2189 looks north under the M&E, beyond is the Boonton Line. The NYSW interchanged with the PRR (Marion Jct) just south of here.  The hoppers are probably waiting return to the PRR after serving Public Service’s Marion Generating Station.
X2190 looks south toward Marion Jct. The grade crossing is St. Paul’s Avenue. The big factory in the distance with the water tank on the roof is the American Can Company.  In 11 years construction of the Pulaski Skyway would change this view dramatically.
X2191 is taken from the M&E looking north at the Boonton Line bridge. The bridge and retaining wall on the left hold the wye track at West End Interlocking.
X2192 looks south under the M&E.
X2193 looks north under the Boonton Line
X2194 is the giveaway photo taken from the Boonton Line looking at the M&E and West End Tower.  The wye track is on the far right.
