I too would like to thank both Patrick for his exhausting research and presentation and Paul for his research on both intermodal and auto rack cars. I learned quite a bit from both these gentlemen. I have saved all the information along with the photos provided into a database for modeling purposes. A fellow club member and I will see what we can come up model wise for both our operations and a way of further thanks.

You're welcome! I did all the research mostly for my own benefit and curiosity, but what fun is that if you don't share what you find?
I'll have some additional analysis and thoughts to share in the next few days, plus I will also share some "honorable mentions."

Pat,
I will second the notion that what you did in research was fantastic. So thank you for all the hard work.

Thanks for the kind words! Knowing that one other person out there found it interesting is enough for me to feel good about all the time I put into it.

As this series comes to a close, I would like to publicly give a big shout
out to Pat Moore for analyzing the train sheets, compiling the data, and
most importantly for sharing results of this huge project with us all. The
time and effort he has put into this must have been enormous, and the
finished product has been tremendous. While I personally am more interested
in early 60's EL, these posts have been a treasure trove of information, and
I have saved each of them, along with the pictures from the links and the
responses and conversations, in a OneNote book for future reference.
Thanks too for all the great feedback and additional information shared by
others. A special thanks to Paul Brezicki for taking the time to share with
us his extensive knowledge of the Trailer Train fleet.
These posts have been so interesting, and I have learned so much from them.
Thanks guys!
