List...
The Rock Island did not build many of their own freight cars, and instead was a frequent customer of Pullman-Standard. The RI took delivery of at least three groups of 40' boxcars from P-S in the 1960-1965 time frame, relatively late in 40' boxcar production. Various smaller groups of cars had different doors, from P-S, Camel, and Superior, but all had an 8' door opening. The groups of cars were found in the number series 27200 - 27349, 27350 - 27849, and 27850 - 29349. Altogether, the consist sheet database had 36 examples, which would put this car at number 81 in the Hot 100.

Locations...
About half the cars in the database appeared to be hauling empty paint cans to Sherwin-Williams in Carlstadt, NJ, and then going back empty to the RI Agent in Chicago. The rest of the cars were mainly found hauling animal feed components to feed mills in the east.
Model...
None lately. Kadee offers a model of this type of car, but thus far the only RI models have been from other number series. Intermountain also offers an appropriate car, but also not yet in RI.
