The Erie built a group of 50' single door boxcars with 8' Youngstown sliding doors at Dunmore in 1954-55. By the late EL years, this series had been broken up into smaller series based on internal equipment such as DF loaders, but in general most of the cars were still in the number range 63000 - 63199 and 163000 - 163999. Taking into account all the sub-groups, there were 43 examples found in the database, which would place this car in the 64-67 range in the Hot 100.

Many of these cars were assigned to auto parts service, with some hauling parts to Ford Mahwah, but others assigned to Packard Electric in Warren, Ohio, and Chevrolet in Buffalo. Other cars were in various other services, like hauling paper to Ft. Howard in Green Bay.
Model...
Branchline Trains produced a kit for this freight car many years ago. Atlas has not yet re-run this car since acquiring the Branchline tooling. The Branchline cars still show up periodically on auction sites.
