Tommy,

Gallo Wine may not necessary have had a warehouse/distribution center
located on the EL. During the years in question, NY-98 often ran via Scranton
in 1972 when it originated out of Chicago, and in 1973 - 1974, was put on
the Scranton side for the most part. When it later (1975 - 76) originated
out of Marion it continued to run via Scranton. Likewise, SF-100 ran via
Scranton from early 1974 into 1976. Result was that the Gallo Wine loads
designated for their Elizabeth warehouse were put on SE-98 when NY-98 and
SF-100 set off at Scranton before continuing to Croxton.

for the NY metro area. Looking at the consists, it seems like every NY-98
in the 1972-73 time frame and every SF-100 in the 1975-76 time frame had a
block of 4-6 cars loaded with wine. =

Pat that's interesting. Do you or anyone know if a distribution center was
located on EL? The only Gallo warehouse location in northern New Jersey
that I could find currently is in Elizabeth. It still has a rail siding --
a Google maps view from this year showed four boxcars on the Gallo siding
- -- but it looks like it is located on the former Central Railroad of New
Jersey. It's located on Division Street in Elizabeth, just west of the old
CNJ Elizabethport yard.
