Bradley and list members,

Here is Conrail's 1987 vintage Buffalo trackage map showing abandonment dates.
There haven't been many major changes since then. The Black Rock Industrial
and Erie Running Tracks (EL) are gone from E. Delevan to Main St. The EL's
Black Rock Yard and "CN Yard" and the Black Rock Branch are gone to just past
the ex-NYC Niagara Branch overpass, the stub is served by a ramp track from
the former American Brass siding off off the ex-NYC Niagara Branch. SK and
North Yards (Erie. E Buffalo) are quite different and the Lovejoy Running
Track is gone. Bison Yard is very different since NS rebuilt it. Abbott Rd
Yard (DL&W) is long gone. The ex-NYC Seneca Yard has been mostly ripped out
and seems to be in a state of flux as CSX keeps changing their mind about what
they want to do with it. I actually got to run a yard job there for a while
one night years ago. The ex-NYC Stock Yards area is incorrect for 1987, it's a
pre-Penn Central layout on the map. Only a stub of the ex-NYC Gardenville
Industrial Track remains at CP GJ. CP F on the ex-NYC Niagara Branch is no
longer a Control Point and the SW leg of the wye to the International Bridge
is gone. Most of the ex-NYC Walden Running Track is gone. That's most of the
notable changes.

I believe that the abandonment dates are the "official" abandonment dates and
not when service was last seen on each of the lines.

Please note that there are several errors on this map. The largest is that the
ex-NYC Belt Line Branch is listed as EL. While this is an "official" CR map, I
would want a second source for any of the dates listed before publishing them
in print media.

I can't remember where I got this map so I can't provide that credit, but I am
posting it here as I believe it has substantial reference value.
