Mr. Gelwood-

First, and foremost, I read your pages on your son Tim's battle with
Hodgkins. Quite a dissertation, my thoughts are with you and your family
through this for a speedy recovery on all parts.

Secondly, I thought I'd pop in this tidbit about a mutual interest- WC
SDP45 6634, Ex EL 3656. As of now the units is stored serviceable, in
Stevens Point, WI. With the pending CN/WC merger, no one knows what is to
happen to her. She was just painted a little over a year or so, albeit a
bit faded now, from the Conrail Blue we got her in.

The crews loved the locomotive, as it was a good puller. A little rough
as a yard switcher, due to it's size, but I have seen it in that
capacity. The engine is in excellent shape, little rust, and the frame
and body is still very good.

It will most likely get sold or put into CN's lease fleet. Speculation ,
however. WC GP30's, SD24's, Geeps and possible ex MILW SDL39's to be
history. :-(

I used to see 3656 go through Ridgewood, and Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, on time
freights in the seventies. Once with a Alco RS3 and a F unit. I was born
in Ridgewood, and would sneak down to watch trains in HHK after school.
Thirty years later, the train bug hasn't left. I'm shown in Ridgewood in
the 2nd attachment in one of my first ( of many ) hooky rides to NYC with
my dad.

Please feel free to use the 6634 attachment, If you like. July 25, 2001

Best Wishes,
