Subject: More DL&W employee apps from WW1 era

Reading thru these old applications for employment on the DL&W, I was struck by the NYC replys - one official as much as said Connor was incompetent, the Trainmaster, in another letter however, praised him highly.
The app. for Louis Collier was interesting for the handwritten letter (in pencil) from the NYC engineer 'run engines for the NYC since 1890 on the Mohawk Div'n'. It's like reading letters written by civil war veterans. What kind of engines would this man have run on the NYC in that era??????????
