Subject: N-Scale Keyser Valley Cabooes by Eastern Seaboard Models
"Dl_w_905-2x.jpg" - image/jpeg, 1421x947 (24bit)

Folks, I have finished assembling the first two prototype models for Bryan over at Eastern Seaboard Models. This is Bryan's first step into the world of DL&W/EL modeling. The Keyser Valley caboose will be offered in kit form as either the "as built" DL&W style or the modified EL "ghetto grill" style. These kits feature cast polyurethane bodies and frames, etched roofwalks (both Morton or US Gypsum), etched handrails, etched end rails with kick plates, etched window screens, Atlas caboose trucks and MicroTrains couplers. Decals are also included to cover DL&W, EL and Conrail. Thanks to Paul T. for the artwork! The really nice thing about this kit is that the master for the castings was rapid prototyped rather than scratchbuilt from styrene. A 3D computer model was built based on AutoCAD drawings so the dimensions are all precise an the detail is clean and crisp. As somebody who has scratchbuilt a number of these cabooses before in N-scale, I know how hard it is to build a clean and precise model.

The price for the kit is still being worked out but should be in the neighborhood of 40 bucks. The cabooses are also being sold under the ESM Sovereign Modeler Series as completed models. These models will be ready to run and will be extremely limited in quantity. The kits and the SMS cabooses will be available through the Eastern Seaboard Models website. The cabooses shown in the photo are pre-production models built by me. Minor adjustments have been made based on these models to ensure a perfect final product. The final product is still a little ways off but we are getting close. The ESM website has updates as well as the Facebook page. This is huge for N-scale modelers. This is also not the end of the line for ESM and DL&W/Erie/EL products.
