List,

Today the Western New York Railway Historical Society took possession of the
first part of its museum project, the Heritage Discovery Center. The site is
composed of 38 acres of land and 200,000 sq ft of buildings, which composed
the old Buffalo Color site on South Park Avenue in Buffalo. The site is
adjacent to the CSX and NS mainlines and Buffalo River bridge. Honeywell
Corporation handed over the property at a ceremony which featured the Mayor,
County Executive, Congressman and a host of local VIPs.

The property was switched by the Buffalo Creek Railroad and the DL&W ROW
runs right thru the property. More can be seen at the WNYRHS website:
http://www.trainweb.org/wnyrhs/heritagecenter.htm

Attached are the first photos I've received. Golden spikes were given out to
all attendees. The Steelworkers museum will join us, along with numerous
other groups. The project is a major Brownfields redevelopment and is being
highlited nationaly to the national Brownfield Conference being held in
Buffalo this week.

Redevelopment of the old DL&W City Branch is part of the project.
