Folks,

Here are a couple of shots of from the Lexington Group's inspection trip over the former DL&W line from Binghamton to Scranton. They show a few shots from the train crossing Tunkhannock both ways and the train at Scranton.

The train was 8 cars, including 3 ex-EL/NJDOT PS Comet cars from the Whippany Museum as well as Ben Levin's PRR E-8's and three of his cars, PRR #120 and Gordon Fuller's private car. Ironically, the only EL equipment were the former EL/NJDOT Comet cars! Listening to the two E's climbing up to Clarks Summit brought back memories of the Phoebe Snow leaving Scranton!

BTW, CPR is adding another siding on the line at Halstead in addition to the ones at Hop Bottom and Dalton. The Halstead siding is in place and should be in service very soon. The sidings are signaled, but much of the line is still TWC with 45 mph track speed - a far cry from DL&W days with double track, 70 mph track speed and ABS on that line!
