"caboosep_d.jpg" - image/jpeg, 1024x768 (24bit)
Thanks to a lister (who wishes to remain anonymous), here's a set of photos
from the last freight run on the Passaic & Delaware (aka the Gladstone
Branch)... Here's the writeup...
The last freight run on the NJT Gladstone Branch took place on Friday,
November 7. Norfolk Southern's Dover-based H-02 ran east out of Dover with
GP40-2 3010 and Conrail bay window caboose following train 6624.
They laid up in Summit Yard for a time (see photos Summittower and
Summityard) then followed train 413 west onto the Branch(see photos
caboosep&d and locop&d). They met train 418 at Murray Hill) then worked at
Reheis. There were 6 cars remaining at the plant which needed to be removed
(see photo drilling) After these cars were drilled together and pulled onto
the main and shoved against the caboose, the entire train shoved west to
Stirling to meet train 420 and then 415 (see photo meetatstirling). While
there the crew posed for a "last run" photo with the locomotive decorated
with appropriate sign and white "extra" flags (see photo lastcrew).
