To expand a bit on Carl's answer, the original bridge was replaced by NJ Transit during the fall of 2003.
Transit offered the original structure free to any group that would handle the logistics of its removal and
transporation, but had no takers, so it was scrapped.

Attached is a photo of the bridge from October 2002.
