Today was the last day at work for Dick Falcon, who started with the EL
in 1969 in the Electrical Department and retires from NJ TRANSIT as
"Director of Capital Project Management Systems Engineering & Design".
I took the attached photo of Dick in his office as he was getting it
cleaned out. He left behind the aerial photo (seen on the left) which
he had been caretaker of for many years. This photo used to hang in the
office of EL's Chief Electrical Engineer, A.B. Costic, in the
Engineering offices along Observer Highway in Hoboken. The photo shows
the Hoboken/Jersey City area and was taken in the 1956/57 timeframe.
The second photo is a close up view of a portion of the photo, there is
lots to see here.
So congratulations to Dick on 39 years of service and best wishes on his
retirement. I can recall the first time I met him while riding home on
the head end of an Arrow II MU train being driven by Steve Kay back in
1992, my first year with NJT. My how time flies.
