The shanty is a crossing guard's shanty. It was recreated using photos of
the original. Before the highway was rebuilt just timetable west of
station, the road crossed here. The Cresco station and grounds are
maintained by the Barrett Township Historical Society and the station is
open on Sunday afternoons from April to October - and when a Steamtown or
ELDCPS train stops there! If you are in the area the station is a great
photo opportunity when a train passes. The museum itself is very well done
with a lot of intersting stuff from the Pocono resorts once served from this
station.
