Thanks for the maps and the detailed explanations. I did some further digging and found some photocopies of the Erie crossing over Main Street (circa 1912 & 1952) and another of trestle work over Delaware Ave in 1949. The Main Street shots were taken from the DL&W bridge. As I say they are photocopies and thus the quality is poor but you can make out enough detail to see what was there.
Also attached is a photo of the DL&W crossing Delaware Ave at grade in 1910! The crossing guard is sitting next to his shanty, probably whittling away. Looks like a horse-drawn wagon on the other side of the tracks. Horses have left their calling card in the left lane. As we Buffalonians know, we are looking north into Kenmore. I always meant to see how many of those buildings are still standing. I got this photo from John Willever. The DL&W took it to fight its tax assessment on the Black Rock Branch.
