Subject: Season's Greetings - Train In Photo
"LIC_Goshen_Photos.jpg" - image/jpeg, 579x374 (24bit)

If the Goshen station was located on the westbound side than I guess the
train in the photo is probably westbound. That being the case I think the
most likely candidate would be No. 5 the westbound LAKE CITIES. In a 1960
Erie timetable that train is shown as making a 9:37 PM flag stop in Goshen.
I think the LAKE CITIES would also be likely to have smooth-sided coaches
in the consist.

By the way, I was going by the captions on the Library of Congress HAER
survey page. I'm attaching a screen cap. They make it pretty clear the
station was on the south (or eastbound) side of the tracks. I guess they
got the directions reversed. Myself, I don't think I ever saw the station
in Goshen. I've ridden the train to Port Jervis a number of times but on
the Graham line.
