RE: (erielack) Hop Bottom and Foster PA



Yup, I was down there Saturday. I stood on the overhead bridge waiting on 3
trains, 2 south bounds and 1 north bound. One in the same. The only
difference is where each station was located.

To further quote Taber, Hop Bottom (the station) was renamed to Foster
sometime during the 1870s.

Frank,

I searched several old DL&W timetables and lists of stations, even going
back to pre-Clarks Summit - Hallstead Cutoff days.  I couldn't find Hop
Bottom listed.  I did find Foster on both the cutoff and on the old
Nicholson Line.  According to Taber's book, Hop Bottom was the name of the
village, but Foster was the name of the station.
