Subject: (erielack) DL&W diesel audio

Hi folks,

Just received this promotional message from Jay Winn, who will be releasing
a CD of DL&W diesel audio from the 1950s. I'll post details here when it's
available for ordering.

LACKAWANNA (DL&W) DIESELS Vol. 1
Before The Hyphen
CD PR-228

You are bidding on a one hour audio CD of sound recorded in real time
during the late 1950's and 1960's. The sequences (tracks) on this CD were
taken from a collection of over 1000 hours of preserved and cataloged audio
from this era. Look for more audio subjects from this collection. This
particular CD program "LACKAWANNA (DL&W) DIESELS Vol. 1" is one of the
programs in our series featuring specific railroads and consists of sounds
of the diesels of the Delaware Lackawanna & Western. The tracks on the
program are as follows: Track 1: A cold night in Hoboken Terminal. A pair
of RS3s numbers 905 and 909 roll by and back to a waiting outbound commuter
train. They make the hitch, pump up and leave. Track 2: Still near
Hoboken, we hear as two different commuter trains with 900 class RS3s roar
by.. Track 3: Still at Hoboken we hear as an Alco S2 switcher fusses
about. Track 4: We are at Binghamton, NY and we hear a WB passenger train
powered by an ABA set of passenger F3s as she leaves town. Then we hear the
EB Phoebe Snow which has been waiting just west of the station as she glides
into the station, does her business and then leaves EB. Track 5: Still in
Binghamton we record the EB #14 as she rolls into the station. An SW7
switcher then removes a couple of cars and 14 leaves. Track 6: We then move
to East Binghamton yard (aka Conklin Yard) where we happen upon an EB
freight with F7/GP7/F3B/F3 as she waits for a signal and then heads east.
Track 7: Still at East Binghamton we catch a WB freight with
F3A/F7B/F3B/F7A as she drops a cut of cars and then leaves WB. Track 8: Back
at Binghamton station we catch an unknown EB passenger train as she arrives
and leaves also with an F3 ABA set. This is followed by a WB freight that
glides through the station with 3 Alco RS3s in charge. This is followed by
an EB mail/express with F3s that stops for a little business and then
leaves. Track 9: We are at the Utica, NY DL&W yard and we catch a GP7
making up the daily local freight to Binghamton. She then leaves SB. Track
10: This is a very rare clip recorded by a friend who lived in Cortland,
NY. It is the sound of a DL&W 44 Tonner working the Cortland yard. There was
a junction with a branch line to Cincinnatus, NY there and apparently a 44
tonner was stationed in Cortland for a while. If you are a fan of the DL&W
Railroad then this CD is for you. Look for Vol. 2 coming soon. Buyer pays
actual shipping costs and personal checks must clear. Shipping is $2.00 for
up to 3 CDs First Class Mail. If you are an aficionado of real good sound
carefully captured on good equipment by a railfan, especially for railfans,
look no further. Give us a try you won't be sorry
