(erielack) ELHS Member Access to ELHTS Content

Hello and Happy New Year,

We just want to let everyone know that the ELHTS publication, "The Limited"
is now available to ELHS members and that the ELHS members' areas are
available to form ELHTS members. Please go to http://www.erielackhs.org to
access this material. You can also gain access to "The Limited" through
http://www.elhts.org/ and jump over to the other ELHS pages via a links on
the this site. We have also cross linked from the ELHS site to the ELHTS
Member's Only pages for now.

We are just starting the process of renovating http://www.erielack.org so
that it will be easier to maintain and allow for more members to directly
contribute to the site. To this end, we are forming a Web and Technology
Committee comprised of volunteers from the membership. The committees job
is to analyze the current site, http://www.elhts.org/, make recommendation
on what can be used in the new architecture, determine the best and
affordable technology that will allow us to meet our goals, run, and manage
the site. Our goals are to expand the use of the Internet by allowing
members and user to contribute content directly to the site in the form of a
gallery or blog, continue to publish historical and modeling articles on the
site (continuing the work that the ELHTS started), and incorporating an
online- searchable index of the ELHS archives. At the same time we will
continue to publish "The Diamond", "Extra Board", Flying Saucer", and "From
the Workbench" .

This is a big leap from where http://www.erielackhs.org is today so please
bare with us if progress appears to be slow. We are still in the process of
building the team at this point. If you have talents in web site design,
web site programming, content development/management, or just like to work
in this space and want to learn more; please consider joining the ELHS Web
and Technology Committee. People interested in joining the committee can
contact me directly.

Thank you,
