Anyway,
With Henry's permission I wanted to post some images from the employee
magazines in his collection. They're a veritable gold mine of information.

In the June 1929 Erie Railroad Magazine, the road announced the
inauguration of it's new New York - Chicago train, the ERIE LIMITED. I'm
attaching the four+ pages as well as an ad and schedule from the July 1929
OFFICIAL GUIDE.

It wasn't as swanky as the Twentieth Century Limited or the Broadway
Limited, but within its territory I think the ERIE LIMITED was considered a
pretty good train. I remember reading in archived north Jersey newspapers
from the 1930s and early 1940s about people going to the station -- I think
the train stopped both westbound and eastbound in Paterson and Ridgewood --
to get 'the Erie' to Chicago.
