Correct. The Erie's float bridges in Jersey City were
adjusted via an overhead mechanism, while the float bridges
at 28th Street and 149th Street were both pontoon type. The
Bronx bridge is somewhat decepive because it had an
overhead girder with a big "Erie" lettered on it, but there
were no cables connecting the girder to the bridge, at
least in the 1950's. Its possible an earlier version was
different.

One modelling issue I have discovered is that its possible
(or likely!) for carfloats from different manufacturers to
have slightly different track spacing and also different
hull thicknesses. The two I have one, Walthers, and one
Frenchman River Models, exhibit this. The model floatbridge
have have to actually be movable to adjust for the hull
differences.

I've posted a photo of the floatbridge area of my under
construction 28th Street Terminal. You can see Erie #20
coming of of the Terminal Stores spur on 12th Avenue. The
pontoon floatbridge is a kitbash from a Central Valley deck
girder bridge. I will use the switch from the Walthers
carfloat apron to access the dual track on the carfloat.

I wish I had bought several more of the Walthers carfloats
when they were only $30, as Ralph pointed out. However,
Frenchman River has stated that it is planning to bring out
a three track float in the future.
