I rode a trip to Bloomsburg on June 8, 1963. My pictures seem to indicate that two gondolas were used, one being from a foreign road (B and O). I think both were added in Scranton. Good luck with figuring something out. The promised power that day was Trainmasters and it was a big disappointment when that did not happen. But at least one F unit was looking pretty spiffy.

I'm afraid I cam't be much help. I rode several Erie fan trips in th '60s and '70s and none carried any "passenger gondolas". I do remember seeing a picture somewhere -- maybe in one of the ols standby book. Perhaps Larry DeYoung would be a better one to ask

Or the Fallen Flags site.

Maybe this is a question for Randy Brown, since it involves passengers on "steel" railroad cars-and possibly Boy Scouts. In my youth, I recall an Erie (or maybe EL) gondola or two set up with yellow hand rails at the ends and seats down the middle. We (as Scouts) rode these open air "coaches" for a tour and short trip. I know I have seen pictures, but cannot find where those might be. My question is what series/legnth gondola would that be? 12000 for a modified MoW, or something different?
