Subject: Erie Limited Schedule Typo

I guess you could call this, "Once Upon a Timetable." :>)

While looking through the July 1929 Erie schedules for the ERIE LIMITED I
was surprised to find what looks like a typo. The condensed Through
Schedule shows Train No.1 stopping at Tuxedo NY (the swanky town
established by Pierre Lorillard in the late 1800s). But the schedule
showing local service between Suffern and Port Jervis does not show No. 1
making a stop at Tuxedo. Then I noticed on the Through Schedule No.1 is
shown making the stop at Tuxedo at 9:47 AM, eleven minutes after stopping
at Paterson. I knew that couldn't be right; when I checked the local
schedule sure enough, that showed No. 1 stopping in Ridgewood at 9:47 AM.
In following OFFICIAL GUIDES the typo in the Through Schedule had been
corrected.

I wondered, looking at the local schedule if, perhaps, someone arriving at
Tuxedo to catch the 9:47 AM arrival of the ERIE LIMITED -- hopefully
arriving fifteen or so minutes early -- might have been able to instead
secure passage on No. 55. I can imagine the Tuxedo ticket agent staring out
at a prospective ticker buyer and exclaiming, "One way to Akron Ohio?
You're going to have to go to Middletown!" No. 55 arrived in Tuxedo at 9:35
AM and got to Middletown (its final stop) at 10:30 AM, twelve minutes
before No. 1 got there.

I'm attaching scans of the relevant parts of the two 1929 schedules.
