"Croxton_Yard_8-7-74-Curt_Carlough.jpg" - image/jpeg, 1024x668 (24bit)

Hi folks,

As stated before, I followed up with some photographer friends, and they
gave me permission to use their images, so....

More views of Croxton Yard!

The first view is by Curt Carlough, taken on August 7, 1974, from atop the
PC "flyover" bridge. NYS&W 1802 is shoving its cut of interchange cars into
"D" Yard (I believe, I misplaced my copy of Tidewater Terminals). Note at
least two EL EMD switchers in the background working the yard and/or hump.
This is also a nice view of some EL freight cars from the mid-1970s.

The second view is by Ray Threlfall from the same location, looking a little
bit further to the west. The two GP18s (note trailing unit 1804 is painted
in the revised paint scheme with a brighter yellow color and lacking the
chevrons on the ends) appear to have just set off a string of interchange.
Modelers, take note of all the piles of sand around the tracks here.

Croxton, as can be seen from these images, was one BUSY PLACE!

Thanks again to Curt and Ray for allowing us to see these images.

- Paul
