To all, I remember this place very well. Sherwood passed away about 30 to40 years ago. I had many good talks with him. We would switch to Old Dutch plant and at one time they were making peanut butter and they gave me about 5 pounds of chocolate covered peanuts and we stopped and gave Sherwood a few pounds. He was very happy. Very nice person. Jerry H.

Building owned by PRR, operated by Nickel Plate RR, and staffed by the Erie !

At GB crossed the NKP's main line, the PRR's Chatauqua Branch and the Erie's B&SW Branch.

Notice the "machine." Table interlocker unit machines bolted together and fitted with a CTC-style track diagram. Can you imagine how much drilling was required on the heavy steel fronts of those table interlockers to accomodate the lamp housings? Clearly CTC-style lamp bases would not fit through all that thickness, so what did they use ? Looks like a real Rube Goldberg arrangement.

The green device sandwiched between the wooden box for holding train order pads and the radio is the opr's control for the three aspect, one-direction Train Order signal outside the building... I think. << Harry Y6-Bundy: You were probably in this place during your time on the NKP... what was the third aspect for on the Train Order signal ? >>

Notice the N&W block sheet and N&W Clearance Card on the desk... clearly says that the Nickel Plate is now "heritage," not reality.

The operator? His name is Sherwood Stoos. Wonder if he was an old Telegrapher...?

This message is going to 50+ people. I have to wonder how many of them will understand what they are looking at. Maybe ten or twelve.
