Subject: (erielack) Early Push Pull Consist, (Was Greenwood Lake Service)
"pompton2.jpg" - image/jpeg, 696x465 (24bit)

I have attached 3 photos that George Elwood posted on his site for me some time ago and many of you have seen. It shows a derailed EL commuter train in Pompton Plains, NJ on the Greenwood Lake Branch. It was taken from the roof of Edwards Engineering on Alexander Avenue by a late friend of mine and shows what appears to be an early EL push pull consist spoken about earlier on the list. You can see the one RS unit is on the ground, the passenger cars behind it and finally another RS unit at the rear. This train was an eastbound train and the lead unit was the one that had derailed. Just for the record, the train hit a car on the crossing, pushed it across the switch and derailed. This should help with the "back up" discussion on the list.
