Subject: Lackawanna 60 Foot HW Baggage Cars
"DL_W_Baggage_2069.jpg" - image/jpeg, 1024x768 (24bit)

Hi,

Does anyone have information about the Lackawanna 60 foot heavyweight
round-roof baggage cars regarding the actual number sequence and which ones
were painted GYM in the early 1950's? Also, they were two builders -
Pullman Standard and AF&F, but were they identical in appearance? The
numbering series from the EL Passenger Car Diagram book is somewhat
confusing as it has overlaps in the series on different pages, but below is
what it seems to indicate.

PSC - 1925

2035-2064

AC&F - 1926/1927

2065-2099

2100-2109

In the November/December 1987 issue of Prototype Modeler, Joe Lofland and
Marty Obed confirm the above numbering sequence. The article mentioned that
by 1954, all these cars had been repainted to the GYM livery.

I am using the Railworks brass model as the basis for these cars and have
painted two to date - one in green #2038 and one in GYM #2069. I am ready
to letter a third in GYM and am trying to decide on a number for that car.
A photo of the Railworks car painted GYM is referenced with a link.

Thanks for any help on this question.
