Paul and Randy,

I too was skeptical that flour was shipped in bulk. That's why I spent seven
(7) hours researching it and went to about 200 sites. All I found was that
reference to that PRR boxcar in Binghamton and two sentences about bulk
flour in the car. I suppose the "bulk" could have been considered 100-lb
sacks and it was repackaged into 1-lb retail packages. Don't know - can't
tell. I'll probably keep researching it. I'm curious.

Also, I have the existing Buffalo Creek archieves from the WNYRHS at my home
for the last ten years. I can say that in going over all the thousands of
records I never found any reference to bulk flour movements.

But - more to the point - I found a photo for Paul of an EL "XF" car covered
in flour. I have seen scores of these cars at the Buffalo grain district. I
know first-hand they carried flour sacks. I just wish I took more photos.
