Well, Gordon, thanks for commenting about the accumulated drift.
You've screwed up my weekend!!;-)

By jogging my memory, you've made me spend the last day or so looking
for my slides and then trying to find a way to get a couple of them
scanned (that didn't work), and then finally trying to take a macro
digital photo of a slide displayed in a 45 year old hand-held single
slide viewer (that sort of worked)!!

In late spring of 1968 very heavy rains caused serious flooding in
North Jersey. The Passaic River was unusually high with all the
runoff. I snapped a couple of shots of all the debris which collected
at the NYS&W trestle between Garfield and Passaic. The force of the
current pushing against all the trapped debris even shifted the
trestle slightly. It may be hard to tell in the photo, but I do
remember it well in person. I do believe this may have hastened the
end of service on the Passaic side of the Passaic Branch.
