List,

About 10-15 years ago at some ELHS Annual Convention there was a fellow
selling spiral-bound books containing a list of all MOW vehicles on the EL
roster as of 1974. The front cover of this white paper volume was entitled:
"1974 - ERIE LACKAWANNA TRUCK LIST". I believe it was being sold by Paul
Bukowski.

There are 33 pages listing all vehicles by vehicle #, year, make, type,
serial #, location and assignment. The list was typed by the EL RR,
obviuosly for their use. I did a quick calculation and there are about 750
vehicles listed. Those that are leased are noted, and these number about
200. I counted up the International Trucks and these came to 160. The rest
were about evenly divided between Fords and Chevys, with a sprinkling of
Jeeps and Dodges.

One could enter all this data on an Excel spread sheet and sort it various
ways as to age of vehicles, assignment trends, etc. to answer all the
questions posed. I've had this list 10+ years and this is probably the first
time I've referenced it.
