In answer to the question, Washington did not have a roundhouse. It did have a turntable to turn engines. Original turntable was 50 ft. It was replaced with a 60 ft turntable to allow for the operation of the 1100 class Pacific's on the passenger trains. Freight engines not table to turn just operated backwards on the roustabouts and work trains. From the Alvin Smith collection photos of the turntable at Washington, NJ.
