Attached is a photo of Charlie Kopechney at the dispatchers desk in Scranton
in 1965. If you look out the window, you can see the Linden Street bridge -
everybodys favorite trainwatching & foto spot. To Charlies' left is the CTC
board for the East side of Scranton up the hill to Lehigh or Gouldsboro (not
sure). Bridge 60 controlled everything in the city.
Charlie's probly working on the trainsheet at his desk. I still have a
few Scranton Div'n. trainsheets I'll sell for $20.00 ea. + $5.00 S&H. I have
some Bangor & Portland Div'n. sheets too & they are smaller so $10.00 for
them + $5.00 S&H. I'll mail trainsheets in a heavy cardboard tube to avoid
damage. All sheets are from the mid 60s, so the Scranton div'n sheets still
have many psgr trains including Miss Phoebe.
All are original, one-of-a-kind + they have the Bloom & S&U divisions on them
too.
HERE"S THE BEST PART for the ERIE guys.......While looking at the roll
of sheets on my worktable, I found mixed in with the EL sheets, 2 ERIE sheets
from Susquehanna Dispatchers office in 1931. They're BIG 25 x 50 inches and
LOADED!
Lots of trains...I counted 9 W/Bs & 10 E/Bs on the one sheet as well as 17
pushers & numerous freights even though it was the depression. Weather from
PJ, Lackawaxen, Deposit, & Susquehanna. Psgr engines are 2700s & 2900s,
freight engs - 3300s, 4100s & 2102 on the wayfreight. Pushers mostly 4100s.
Now, boys, get ur copies of ERIE POWER out.
These are what we call "museum quality' and there is only 2. $50 each
takes them & I'll pay the S&H. I've looked at them all day, somebody else can
have some fun.
Anyone interested in these or the EL sheets can send cash, ck, or M.O.
