Subject: Other DL&W men... Charlie Barrett
"Charlie_Barrett_photo_story.jpg" - image/jpeg, 800x1070 (24bit)

While we're talking about Andy Barbera, here are some articles about
another DL&W man who retired and went to "play with trains" in his
retirement years, Charlie Barrett. You never often hear today about
someone retiring from a job at age 69!

Again, thanks to Steve Hepler for these articles...

" Paul,

Here's an article on Charlie Barrett from the Herald News, August 2,
1971. This was after we painted 385 in the green Southern colors for
the first time, and placed Charlie's name on the cab.

The caption (which I couldn't fit into the scan) reads: "RAILROAD MAN
HONORED - Richard A. Reitmeyer, left, vice-president of Morris County
Central Railroad, and Earl Gil, president of the line, honor Charles
barrett, who, at 72, has spent 48 years as a railroad man."

Also, here's a short one on Charlie Barrett, but with a nice photo.
This may be from the Daily Record... August 3, 1971, after we had
painted 385 SR green and placed Charlie's name on the cab."
