The Lackawanna station in ELmira received some modifications, but nothing too major. Mostly raising the canopy next to the station to the new track level. Attached are a few pictures of the area a few years ago.... very sad to see what was done to the once majestic station....

I'm planning a layout based on the DL&W passenger service to Elmira and am looking for photos of the station station building built in 1913 and closed in 1959 when service shifted to the Erie station and also a track plan of the station vicinity. So far the only photo I have found of the track side of the building is a partial view just prior to the opening that is contained in Taber's DL&W in the Twentieth Century Volume 1. Also, the Diamond article on Elmira in Volume 21, number 3 indicates that both the DL&W and the Erie raised their tracks through Elmira in 1934. The article has photos that show that the Erie station was heavily modified to accommodate the raised track. Was the DL&W station also modified to accomodate raising the track? Any help greatly appreciated.
