Of course, that begs the question - why sell off something that makes a
profit? :)

EL had to suffer under the onerous tax base of New Jersey...

When I first saw the sign, it almost looked like a billboard. It could very
well have been, but this sign didn't last - Attached is a Rich Campana shot
showing the Mountain View station - that sign would have been just to the
right of the crossbucks at the left, but there's nothing to be seen. I guess
once the Lake Cities ran its final run, that sign must have come down.
