"still-frame.jpg" - image/jpeg, 633x474 (24bit)

I went back and grabbed a still frame from the video Bob was referring to
(see attached "still-frame.jpg" - the DL&W Hudson is in the right background
with the yellow-bordered center stripe). I grabbed as large an area of the
"stripe" to pull the color from it. There's quite a bit of video noise to
it, but it averaged out pretty well to the following RGB color value:

R: 44
G: 31
B: 38

I drew a block with this color so everyone can see it (see
color-on-stripe.jpg). It's ever so slightly maroon, but bordering on black.
Of course, exposure of the original film may have a lot to do with it (very
sunny day, very dark locomotive), but the "maroon" - such as it is - is just
awfully close to plain old black.
