Jim,

I thought E. R. Holden was in charge of the DL&W coal business. See the
attached news clipping from the New York Times, dated 2-11-1900. He too was
replaced by Truesdale. The article went out of its way to say Holden was
sick, that he was too old (65 years old), that his duties were too arduous
and that he agreed with everything Truesdale is doing! I don't think so.

Holden then went back into the coal business in Syracuse (which he and his
family ran since the 1860's) and he lived to 1914!
