Subject: Continuing the ride on the Boonton Line...
"H02_cabride_032_Lincoln_Park_NJ-1999-PRT.jpg" - image/jpeg, 1261x1886 (24bit)

Continuing on the Boonton Line cabride...

031: Approaching Beaver Brook Road grade crossing at the west end of Lincoln
Park. In the distance we can see the start of the Lincoln Park passing
siding.

032: Passing siding begins here, and you can see we're being lined to run
the siding (I assume to knock some rust off the rails?)

033: The Comly Road overpass and the well-kept station. Other than the
rebuilt overpass, this scene has changed little since EL days.

034: Cruising down the siding, with the large farm field between the tracks
and Route 202 on the right.

035: Coming out of the siding and approaching the Ryerson Road grade
crossing. The East Lincoln Park signal bridge used to stand right about
where the current signal stands. Of course, in EL years, the siding
continued across the road and re-entered just before the Pompton River
bridge in the distance.

036: The Pompton River bridge. As you can see, it used to be
double-tracked, but it was a bit of a choke point in DL&W days, as the four
tracks had to come down to two to cross it.

037: On the bridge.

038: Approaching the "new connection" at Mountain View. The original Boonton
Line used to go straight into those trees (you can see the edge of the old
ROW going into the trees at the left)

039: Abandoned second main bridge. These bridges cross a small entrance into
a housing development north of the tracks.

040: Entering the former Erie/NY&GL Mountain View station area (though the
station seen was built by NJT). The NY&GL north to Wanaque can be seen
coming off on the left, and today is used to access the Totowa Industrial.

Digest these for now! :)
