As LOC says there are "No known restrictions on publication" I figured I would
work it over a little a bit and upload it here.

I am not an expert on Rochester, but here's what I know about this photo. In
the middle of the photo we are looking west down Court street, over the
Genesee River bridge. Our main focus is obviously the Erie passenger and
freight facilties across the river, just east of Exchange Boulevard. The Erie
line ran south about 5 miles to Mortimer Jct. About a mile and half south of
the station the Erie crossed the Genesee River on a bridge that is still in
place, but there are no tracks on either side of it anymore. The present I-490
bridges the Genesee approximately where the dam is between the freight and
passenger stations. The passenger tracks have been gone for a very long time,
but the freight tracks lasted quite a while longer. I suspect that Conrail
ripped them out back in the 80's, but I don't know for sure. The LV and Erie
shared the right of way from the Erie's bridge over the Genesee (near the
university and Mt. Hope Cemetery) to Mortimer Jct where the Erie continued
south to Avon (where the lines to Mt. Morris and Wayland split) and the LV
continued southeast to Rochester Jct.

Note the Erie Canal crossing the Genesee River on a viaduct at the right side
of the photo. I have always been intrigued by water over water crossings.

Great photo, thanks for the link Jim!
